Advocacy Grand Rounds: Gun Violence Prevention- Grassroots Advocacy & Public Health: What can YOU do?

Session Description: Gun violence takes the lives of over 110 Americans daily, and has now become the number one cause of death for children between the ages of 1 and 19. The continued increase in both mass shootings and everyday city violence have ramped up the efforts seen by grassroots advocacy groups such as Moms Demand Action, March Fourth, March for Our Lives, Newtown Alliance and many others. Together, these groups working alongside researchers and physicians involved in tackling gun violence as a public health issue has proven to be a highly effective way of connecting expertise from both sides, creating partnerships, with the ultimate goal of educating the public, and helping pass strong gun-sense laws. Please join Doctors for America on Thursday, February 23rd at 8pm ET for a special Advocacy Grand Rounds discussion with four panelists who will help show how all of us can do something to help solve this public health crisis.
