We advocate on a diverse array of issues that affect our communities, from firearm violence to substance use disorder, from environmental policy to homelessness, from nutrition to mental health to infrastructure funding. All the while, we are ready to respond to emerging threats, such as in our work on COVID response and recovery, and fight for long term changelong-term funding for our public health and medical research institutions and through our support of the health workforce.
H.E.A.R.T. seeks to create a more resilient and prepared society, capable of effectively responding to current and future public health emergencies by safeguarding and strengthening our public health infrastructure.
The Substance Use Disorder subcommittee aims to provide education and expertise on substance abuse and its effects on public health and the individual, while also advocating for policies and initiatives aimed at reducing its prevalence and negative impact.
