Doctors for America’s FDA Task Force Meets with Congressional Leaders, Prepares for Direct Dialogue with FDA Commissioner
WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, Doctors for America’s FDA Task Force is meeting with bipartisan Members of Congress in both the House and Senate to underscore the urgent need to protect the FDA’s independence and preserve its scientific integrity. Physicians will share firsthand concerns about how staffing cuts, weakened advisory structures, and political interference could jeopardize patient safety and undermine public trust.
Building on these conversations, the Task Force will meet directly with FDA Commissioner Marty Makary and advisors on Friday. This high-level dialogue will allow DFA’s physician leaders to press for a fully staffed FDA, transparent regulatory decision-making, and continued inclusion of medical experts in agency processes.
