Medications for Addiction Treatment: DEA Updates and Prescribing Principles
June 22, 2023 @ 8:00 pm–9:00 pm EDT
Session Description:
Despite improved updated licensing requirements for buprenorphine prescribers, there is still a national shortage in physicians prescribing buprenorphine to patients with Opioid Use Disorder. Doctors for America Advocacy Grand Rounds will attempt to decrease provider uncertainty of updated guidelines and remind physicians of the efficacy of buprenorphine. After attending this session, providers will have a better idea of buprenorphine dosing, treatment guidelines, and the importance of widespread accessibility. Opioid Use Disorder is a treatable condition and life-saving medications must be accessible in more areas of the country. By improved provider understanding and prescribing of MAT like buprenorphine, more patients can find recovery and lifesaving treatment.
