Virtual Event Virtual Event

Session Overview

In this session, Leonardo Cuello, J.D., will provide a comprehensive look at the evolving Medicaid landscape under the new administration. With two decades of experience in Medicaid law and policy, Leo will delve into critical issues that directly impact physicians and their patients, including the major threats facing Medicaid in the coming weeks and years. He will discuss the current legislative proposals including: caps on Medicaid funding, reduction in state Medicaid reimbursement, threats to Medicaid expansion, restrictions on provider related taxes, work requirements for coverage, and numerous other harmful proposals. He will discuss how these changes will defund state health care systems and impact physicians’ ability to care for vulnerable populations.

Featured Speaker

Leonardo Cuello, J.D.
Research Professor at the Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy’s Center for Children and Families (CCF).
Leo has worked on Medicaid law and policy for the past two decades, most recently as the Health Policy Director of the National Health Law Program.

Why This Matters
