We are reaching out with an important opportunity to support a campaign urging Facebook to disclose their research and data related to the spread of COVID-19 disinformation.

As physicians, we know how much our patients use social media to make decisions on vaccines. As we are still battling a global pandemic, it is important that social media companies take transparent steps to actively fight this misinformation around COVID and vaccination. Please consider joining us in signing this public-facing letter to Facebook.

Your signature would be especially powerful in adding pressure to Facebook and would compel the White House and lawmakers to finally advance much needed tech-regulation.

In her historical 60 Minutes interview and congressional testimony last week, Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen provided conclusive evidence that the spread of disinformation on Facebook continues and remains a threat to public health. There is a need for full transparency to understand who has been most impacted by disinformation, so experts can begin to address the crisis. It is clear that Facebook needs accountability and lawmakers need to ensure this happens.

When the campaign goes public, the letter will be sent to Facebook, lawmakers, and White House officials.
